How to manage it
Fast nitrogen-fixing sand-stabiliser and biomass shrub for hot dry sites; coppice or chop-and-drop regularly to control spread and generate mulch.
Watch out for
Highly invasive in Mediterranean, South African and Californian climates - resprouts from cut stumps and builds a heavy seed bank. Frost-tender when young; relatively short-lived (15-30 years).
