Formative prune while young to encourage lower branching and denser leaf biomass; established trees can be pollarded for mulch and oil harvest.
Watch out for
Oily, citronella-scented foliage is highly flammable and mildly allelopathic to understory plants. Frost-tender for its first few winters and can self-seed into a weed in mild, wet climates.
