How to manage it
Grow as a specimen shade tree for its light, ferny canopy and spring flower display; formative-prune while young to build a strong scaffold, since limbs are brittle later.
Watch out for
Not a nitrogen fixer despite fern-like foliage. Frost-tender when young, brittle-branched in wind, and self-seeds aggressively enough to be listed as invasive/weedy in parts of South Africa and Australia.
